Asbestos Survey at a Co-Educational Secondary School
Asbestos survey work for a three-storey school building opened in 1967 with later extensions and renovations.
The Project
EnviroSolution were contacted to undertake a survey at a co-educational secondary school in Accrington. The three-storey school opened in 1967 and had undergone a number of extensions, renovations and removals over time.
The Challenge
The client wanted to review and update monitoring requirements for ACMs in the school and targeted a particular area for extension.
The Solution
The survey found that certain areas, including the kitchen and boiler room, were labelled with asbestos warning labels. Inspection and sampling confirmed that these particular labelled areas were negative.
The Benefit
The survey confirmed and assessed the condition of ACMs previously identified and also identified materials that were not asbestos containing, reducing monitoring requirements and saving time and money.
